Hongkong: New World Renaissance or Kowloon Hotel

Does anyone know which of these two hotels (both on the Kowloon side) is better? Which has the better location and space? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the Renaissance, but I stayed at the Kowloon Hotel recently. The location is ideal and the hotel is of good quality with some fun high tech features in the room, inclding free internet access. The down side is that the rooms are very small and don't offer harbor views, but I personally don't think views are a big deal. I got a great deal on asia-hotels.com - about $65 a night, pretty good for Hong Kong. Enjoy!

I have stayed in Kowloon Hotel- great location, close to MTR, nice breakfast buffet, high tech room, but yes, the rooms are very small. It didn't bother me cos I was out most of the time. I think New World is a nice hotel, and you get nice harbor views in some rooms. Both are in good locations, but I think Kowloon Hotel is slightly closer to everything.

Lia,
I stayed at the New World some years ago. The location is wonderful (on the water, 5-minute walk to the Star Ferry). Oddly enough, although it's on the water, there are no harbor view rooms (if I recall correctly). The rooms were nice, but on the smallish side.

New World Renaissance is adjacent to the Inter-Continental Hong Kong (formerly the Regent), hence is ideal for shopping (has its own mall) and enjoys a good view. Kowloon Hotel, however, is more at the center of the Kowloon peninsula, closer to the MTR and other shopping malls. In any case, they are only five to ten minutes walk apart. Location-wise, pick Kowloon Hotel.

Kowloon Hotel is wonderful. Small rooms. No problem for the best location to Ferry etc. Big Plus! Kowloon Hotel is run by the Peninsular Hotel which is just in front of it. You can use all the facilities of Peninsular Hotel so I was told. Too busy to find out. Just inquire.
Don't miss the Felix Restuarant at the Peninsular Tower (37th floor) incredible high tech bathrooms. I must see.
