Hong Kong transit hotel?
I have a 7 hour layover to change flights in Hong Kong at the end of Jan. I can't bear the thought of being stuck in the airport that long, but I don't think it's enough time to get out into the city, especially while dragging my luggage. My luggage should be checked through to my final destination, but in a similar circumstance last year, they would not let me leave the airport without it.
Is there an on-premises transit hotel that is clean/comfortable that would not require claiming my baggage? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

There is no transit hotel airside, and the Regal at airport is not known to be cheap. You can still ask them or the Novotel or the Marriott. Otherwise, best is to leave airport and visit the city. 7 hours is more than enough time, and there is no one who can prohibit you from leaving the airport as long as you are legal to enter HK.

There are 24 hour lounges I've used that you can buy a day pass for, showers and comfortable chairs, internet, reading material:
