Hong Kong Hotels with Balconies

First may I express my gratitude for all the information on Hong Kong that has been posted; I have printed out Cicerone's walks which will be invaluable.
We will be five adults visiting for two weeks in November, three of whom are smokers. I am aware of the ban, but wonder if there are any hotels with balconies (attached to the non-smoking bedroom....)where the desperate can go.

None in the city that I am aware of. Mandarin Oriental used to, but not after its extensive renovations. [Incidentally, not long after famous popstar/movie star Leslie Cheung jumped from his room.]

There are others outside the city, like the Gold Coast near Tuen Mun; or Silvermine Beach, Warwick and Disneyland Hotel on the islands.

Their Presidential Suite even have an infinity pool in that private outdoor patio. Is that where you had, Marija?

Wow. Hey, if anyone needs volunteers to test out that suite, I'm totally game for it! ;-)

Don't I wish we stayed in the Presidential Suite! We stayed at the Intercontinental in Sept. 2005 and had a third floor harbor view room. French doors opened up to a beautiful terrace complete with loungers. It was perfect for watching the nightly fireworks.

Looking at their website, they renovated in 2006 and it looks like only the Presidential suite has outside facilities now, unless I'm missing something. Shame, because that was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks anyhow.

carolrh - I think somewhere in their website, there's still called a "terrace suite". Call or email them about it.

Actually, Hong Kong hotels still have smoking rooms. I know that the JW Marriott does, for example, because I just put a client n there who wanted, and received a smoking room. You are only allowed to smoke IN the rooms, not in the hallways. I don’t know if you wanted smoking rooms (or wanted to force the smokers outside), but they are available in most Hong Kong hotels to the best of my knowledge, and most hotels in Asia.

As with the others, I am not aware of any hotel in Hong Kong with balconies, but you might ask specific hotels about rooms with rooftops or terraces. The Intercon is a thought, the Penn may have some rooms with rooftop areas. The club floor at the Four Seasons may have a balcony area, I have a vague recollection of this.
