Has anyone heard from Tong??

Hello all!

I was finalizing my plans over email with Tong during the last few weeks. We had finally narrowed down dates and I am trying to get in touch with her to pick one of her guides from those available.
But, I haven't heard back from her in about a week and a half and have sent her a couple emails.
Is anyone else having this trouble? Any suggestions? I am trying desperately to finish the planning process!
Thanks in advance!

We talk to her usually three times a week, and bob is right she did get hit by a car. She is doing better now but had to get someone else to do the driving for awhile.
We sent her a box from the US with a buch of american stuff in it, and her daughter Pear took it all for herself
You should hear back from her soon! Jeffrey

Hi-I had E-mailed her a few weeks ago and got an auto E-mail. Then a few days ago I tried again to touch bases with her about our 2 days we have with her in October and she answered me back. I'm glad she's doing OK after her accident.
Also working on final details for a 5 day tour with Sgt. Kai end of October-Thank you all for all these helpful tips-Its getting closer to when we leave. We fly out October 4th from SFO on Singapore Airlines-can't wait. Chris

I had an email from Tong yesterday (June 14) in which she said she would write more in a couple of days when she has a half day off.

Hello!
I heard back and it looks like we have Jerry for 2 days in mid-August.

Does anyone know how far in advance Tong usually likes to iron out the details for a tour(hotel, pick up times, itinerary, phone numbers, etc.). I am a little "Type A" so I want to do everything ASAP but I didn't want to push it with Tong in case she preferred to wait til the date gets closer.
I haven't had the best luck in hearing back from her so I wanted to make sure I don't overwhelm her
Thanks again in advance! I am loving all of the help on this site!

Emailed her yesterday & boy ! was I surprised to hear from her 20 minutes after !!! Apparently she had a last minute cancellation so she was catching up with emails etc. Between 7-9 Pm we had 4 lengthy emails working on out One Day Out with Tong Day in August.
Hope you've reached each other by now.

I am going to be in BKK Aug 9-12 and need a tour guide. I have seen Tong highly recommended but have not spotted her contact info posted - can anyone provide me with her email?

Also, in case she is not available, can anyone recommend other good guides that can take us around for a day or two?

Thanks!

You can email Tong at:

Another recommended guide from this sight is Tan. I emailed back an forth with her for awhile and she seems highly competent.

Kathie - thank you. I was able to find Ponheary and also found some other names. Now comes the hard part of figuring out what to do in our two days in Angkor.

One of the guides offered to take us to a Floating Village on Tonle Sap Lake. I recall reading someone's report of this type of visit but seem to remember they weren't impressed. Any opinions on whether it's worth our time if we only have 2 days in Angkor Wat?
