Hakone Hotel/Ryokan
We're planning a trip to Japan for our honeymoon in May, and are thinking of staying 1 night in Hakone. We have several hotel in mind and are down to three. 1) Seihokaku Terumoto 2) Hotel Green Plaza Hakone 3) Hotel Senkei. Can anyone of you please tell us your thoughts on these hotels if you stayed there before. Thanks a lot!!

if i may make a suggestion - as it is your honeymoon, i'd recommend splurging on an authentic ryokan for 1 night. it may cost $400-$600 for the night, but it will be one of the most memorable experiences of your trip. we did this on our honeymoon when we were in kyoto and truly enjoyed it - frankly, after the 14 course kaiseki dinner for 2, traditional breakfast, and service you couldn't find in the states at any price, it really doesn't seem that extravagant!

Have you looked at Hakone Ginyu? We are booked there for November and it seems a fabulous place for a honeymoon...complete with private hot springs bath in each room.

We stayed one night at Senkei - Senkei Plaza. You'll see on the web site that the Senkei has several "parts" - at different prices. We were only staying one night and didn't want to pay a lot.
I wrote about it in this little report - (in first few lines)

So what we got was very basic - but clean & Ok. We didn't see any of the other rooms at Senkei and so can't comment.
