First Time to Hong Kong

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the best things to see. I'll be there for 5 days towards the end of July.
p.s. any suggestions on what to do on my 13-hour flight? (besides my gameboy)

Do a search of "Hong Kong" on this forum, and you'll see tonnes of suggestions by us in the past.

There's also another current thread up top about what to do on long haul flight.

Just in case you aren't sure how to do a search( I notice this was your first post) go to the top of the page, click China in the topics and then type Hong Kong in the search box. We spent 5 days in July 2 years ago and I have posted about it. If you click on my name you will see my posts and find the Hong Kong one easily. I loved HK!

maybe I should be more specific. I did look at the page for Hong Kong but there's so much to do and I only have five days! I was looking for suggestions on what's a major must see.
p.s. Fiona, I found it, near the bottom.

May I suggest that one day you spend on Kowloon side wandering around the streets and shops and markets and relax in Kowloon Park and definitely visit the fabulous History of Hong Kong museum ( an early morning visit to the park will show you the tai chi exercises many Chinese go through every day). At night catch the great view along the waterfront outside Intercontinental Hotel.Another day you might concentrate on the Hong Kong side ( go over on the Star Ferry rather than the underground).Go up to the Peak and do the leisurely walk around the Peak (about one hour and grat views). It is worth doing once in the day and again at night.ON the same day you could do Stanley markets and a general poke around the Hong Kong side (including the escalator area.On another day you could consider going out to one of the islands( Cheung Chau, Lantau, Lamma eg)by ferry. On the remaining days just go with the flow or even consider a look at Macau. You will love Hong Kong I'm sure!
