e-visa myanmar

Anyone had difficulties with Myanmar e-visa in Australia? Supposed to be 3 working days, We are out to six. Would have done it through the embassy before Christmas, sent off the passports etc, but they said do it this way, and now we are 10 days from flying out. Btw, e-visas are through a .com link, not the embassy, it seems there's a bit of business being done.

Last time, we had to go through their embassy, it was six weeks, and we got our passports back three days before departure after many unanswered phone calls. I think they play with people, or drag it out so you have to pay expedited rates.

Maree, did you use the official e-visa website? http://evisa.moip.gov.mm/

If you used a .com website, it is likely an agent and no telling whether you will get the visa. The most recent report from an Aussie I could find received her visa approval in less than 24 hours.

I think that was me Kathie. No drama at all receiving it, and using it in Mandalay Airport was a breeze. There's no separate queue now.

No, Kathie, it was the embassy website. Last time it took 6 weeks to send and receive back our passports by post, so e-visa was supposed to be more efficient. It must be the embassy here in Australia, the land of the long holiday.

I'm sorry, maree, I don't understand. First you said it was a .com site, then you say it is the embassy website.

The link I gave in my first post is the link to official government e-visa website. If you used any other website, I expect you won't get a visa.

The visa request is not processed by the local embassy, but by the Myanmar Government, so while there are Myanmar holidays that can interfere, Australian holidays should not be an issue.

Good luck.

Latest reports say official evisa site is giving approval in less than 6 hours.
Something wrong here...

I think I got my response within about 1 hour ( or less) confirming my visa.... seems odd!
