Thank you all. If I knew that we had an enormous amount of energy, all of your suggestions, put together, would make a great loop tour! I looked them all up and was surprised how nicely they fit together, probably with car/ driver, but maybe through metro as well. It’s a wonderful loop that doesn’t cover all that much city territory (at least looking at google maps). Starting the loop with Humayun’s Tomb, on to Khan Market for shopping and lunch, on to Indira Gandhi memorial, on to Hauz Khas Village for more shopping, then a visit through the archaeological site, then to dinner, and finally back to hotel near Nehru Place with a later, short, final walk to the Lotus Temple.

Assuming that we’d have plenty of energy! But I know that we won’t. We’ve traveled a lot through the years and past experiences have taught us if we try to put too much into that first arrival day, we regret it. But for someone else traveling to Delhi, this would make a great loop! We’ll do the Humayun’s Tomb visit, then the walk from hotel to Lotus Temple and back. It’s a plan, but it could change! We are so looking forward to visiting India!

I agree that first loop was pretty ambitious. I had to sigh just reading it. .

Going at a comfortable pace is far more important and Delhi traffic can be tiring just by itself.

Go with the flow!
