Hi all -

Does anyone have a recommendation for a daytrip destination from Bangalore, India? It would be for this Saturday. Not looking to spend more than 3-4 hours in the car, if possible.

Have already done Mysore, and Hogennekkal Falls.

Any ideas?

You could try Belur,Halebid & Shravanabelagola.The first two are temples built by the Hoysalas dynasty.Exquisite architechure.The other is a stone monolith of Bahubali.Its about 4hr drive from Bangalore.Superb.You'll have to drive towards Hassan.Try and stay at a Chickmagalur coffee estate.A lot of home stays around.Enjoyable.

If you are up for it, you can take a night train to Vijayanagar.

Or Hampi. I would strongly suggest against taking a daytrip somewhere that's more than 2 hours away. The roads are much worse over there and getting anywhere takes FOREVER.
