I stayed their at Xmas. A nice change from the usual chain hotels. We were upgraded to a suite which was very spacious & well furnished. The bed was fine. Public areas were modern and very trendy the bar in particular. Was pretty cool - decorated with life sized b&w photos of famous jazz & blues artistes. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good local restaurants included Lemongrass & Seafood Village (absolutely vast!). Downside - a 15 minute walk to the BTS & not quite up to 5* standard.
A couple of weeks later we stayed in the Conrad on Wireless Rd - the standard room was superb and the buffet restaurant the best I have had in BKK!

I stayed at the Davis back in late December. It was my first time to stay there and I had been looking forward to it. Actually I stayed just one night on the way to Myanmar, but it was enough to make a very good impression on me.

Although it's a rather big hotel, it does has a small boutique hotel feel to it - cozy, stylish, hip, and friendly. I got a very good rate and upgrade to a design room by calling the hotel directly on the same day and speaking with the nice reservation manager.

The service was very good and everyone was friendly and helpful. I liked the room. Ours was a design room done up in a Chinese style, quite nicely done. The room was spacious, bed very comfortable, and bathroom great. The room was perfect actually, but there wasn't much of a view. I think a higher floor would have been much better.

The free breakfast buffet was really impressive. A full spread served in their stylish cafe that's very bright, open, and sunny. It was fun just people watching at breakfast. A nice crowd seemed to be staying at the hotel and it was a good atmosphere. The service at breakfast was very good too.

I only looked at the pool for the villa rooms, not the main pool, but I guess it would be nice. There's a spa with reasonable prices and I'll have to try it next time. Anyway, I enjoyed the Davis a lot and will definitely stay there again.

By the way, it's easy to get to the hotel from the airport, only about 20 min. door to door. I can't say much about the overall location of the Davis since I only stayed one night.
