Try <oasischinavisa.com>. I used them 2 years ago. I just looked up at this website. They have a 6-hour rush service. So you still have time by sending it by overnight express both ways.
I recommend that you call them first making sure you'll send them everything they need to process the application.
Good luck

Aubrey, is your first stop in China? If you are flying into Hong Kong, say, you could get your visa there. Otherwise, you'll have to go with a visa service. There have been several different ones recommended here. Whichever one you choose, you'll need to call them to make sure you can get the visa in time. By the way, you can't apply for your visa on the web.

" If you are flying into Hong Kong, say, you could get your visa there. " This used to be the best place, but reports I have been reading lately say it is currently the worst place because of the tightening for the Olympics. I am not at all sure what the odds are of getting a tourist visa right now without return tickets - you may need to buy a refundable ticket to make sure of getting your visa. Do you have a job lined up? Maybe your employer can help.

Aubrey I have no idea where you live but in LA there's a Chinese Consulate office where you can get your VISA. It takes only 3 days. Bring your application, your flight info and hotels, passport and one passport photo. They reviewed my application for a few seconds, looked at my travel itinerary for about a second and gave it back to me and said come back in 3 days and pay then. It was there like clockwork. If you are not in a city with a consulate by all means use one of the express services. I used one last year and things were turned around in 3 days. www.travisa.com
Good luck.
