We are planning a trip to Asia leaving around late August/September. We want to end in the Philippines as we have family there. However my husband wants to visit China and Hong Kong and I would like to include Vietnam. Does anyone have any suggestion on which route to take - should we start in Hong Kong and end by flying to Manila from Bangkok or would the opposite way work better? Time frame isn't really too much of an issue nor is adding other places on route. Just really need to find a starting point

just buy cathey pacifics all asia pass and take care of it all... minus vietnam for $999

Although a great price the all asia pass is too restrictive time wise. Thank you though

I sometimes plane my routs by looking at what events/holidays are going on in a certain area at a time..

maybe ending in HK would be better for flying back home since it is a major hub.. but off course it depends on where you live.
