Hi- Just want to confirm that we will meet on 9/15 at VTK -Vong Thai Kitchen at 7PM. Restaurant is on State and Hubbard and reservation is in my name -- Gloria Friedman.
Now- the one possible problem. I have had a terrible cough for two weeks which the doctor thought was a sinus infection. But the antibiodics didn't work and I'm just getting worse. I have a 10AM appointmet with him tomorro (Friday) and if he tells me that I'm sicker than I think I am or am contagious (which I really don't think I am) I might have to miss out on the dinner. I'll post as soon as I know but if I'm not there that's the reason. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you so hope this is just a bad allergy or something that is annoying but not serious enough for me to have to cancel.

I AM going to be there with DH, DS is iffy. He does not want to talk about Japan. I think he's still processing his year there.
I figured out our time line, and the earliest we could get there is 7:30 - if traffic is ok. So go ahead and don't wait for us, but we will be there.

Gloria - let us know what the Dr. says.

Been to the doctor. Turns out I have a slight fever and he thinks that I'm on the verge of pneumonia or already there. Lungs not clear. Anyway he gave me some heavy doses of medication and told me to go home and stay home until Monday and then come back. So looks like I won't get to meet you all. VERY disappointed. But do have a drink for me and let's try to do another GTG in the spring. I know you'll have a great time and remember the reservation is in the name of Gloria Friedman. I just called and confirmed and told them there would be 6 of you. If it turns out to be less just let them know when you get there. Have a great time.

Gloria, so sorry you can't come, but you should take care of yourself. Lay on the couch and drink some tea, watch a bunch of movies.

Our dd lived in Japan for 2 years, but my main interest at this time is Thailand as we are going on our 3rd trip there. I wish I had your phone # to see if you too want to postpone for another time seeing as we will now be such a small group. Please get back to me ASAP if you agree

My DS has bailed on the dinner. We're visiting DS #2 who has a new apartment in Evanston. And BIL flew in from Minneapolis to visit. Soooo, long story short, I would't mind vising family this time and meeting up in spring. Maybe DS will want to talk about Japan and more people could come.
