Chiang Mai Condo Info

Does anyone have any information on the Twin Peaks Condos or the Peak Garden Condos in Chiang Mai? They are both next to the Shangri-La Hotel, Chiang Klan Road, and seem to be very nice from the pictures. We are looking for somewhere to stay for several months later this year.

Thanks.

@rhkkmk, can you offer some explanation for your statement dismissing CM as a 'first time T'land' location? Personally, i found the place quite OK, but a bit hot last May.

Sandra,

For a prolonged stay I like the Nimanhaemin road area more. THe Shangri-la area is at the end, or beginning, of the the night bazaar zone.

Pook:Ricard agrees with you. Me ~~ I am more comfortable with 'what I know' and since Twin Peaks isn't far from the Chedi, I tend to concentrate on that. But, since we will be there for 3-4 months, I am sure that I will be just as comfortable on the western side of CM. There is just so much there (and not knowing the area) my mind is 'a-boggle.' Is this a word?

Jobin: rhk's remarks should be taken as a joke ~~ he and his wife like cruises, while my husband and I are 'wild about CM' and we are all friends. This definitely isn't our first trip to Thailand. BKK amd CM each have their own unique beauties!

Well, OK then. Accepted. I'm off to CM next month for intensive golf holiday and pray daily that the seasonal burning of old fields will not interfere with my enjoyments of CM. I suppose, if needed, i can substitute night time action.

We have been staying in a one bedroom unit at the Peak Garden condo for the last month. Beautiful room. It is totally set up for cooking, etc, but we haven't used the kitchen yet. Although it is pricey, we didn't really mind since it it a holiday and we don't mind splurging for a month! The place has been great and the staff is very friendly. Lots of wonderful restaurants nearby and central enough that you can walk almost anywhere. You can pig out at the night market for next to nothing. You will pay a maximum of 80-100 baht to get to the malls, etc. on the other side of the walled area but we have walked to them as well. Room is cleaned every 2 or 3 days. Pool is small but nice and usually empty during the day. It is at the end of the night market but we avoid it by just walking down the side of the street when we go anywhere lol. Great breakfast joint five minute walk away, "Butter is Better", where we have eaten almost every morning. Love CM and will be retiring here in July. Yes, the smoke is arriving and has been bad the last few days but should start decreasing in another month or so from what we hear.
