Central Chitlom hairdresser ?t

Went to see OD at this tiny hairdressing salon at Central a few weeks ago only to find there is now a spa in the salon's place ! He was so good and I am sure some of the Fodorite girls [ Ladies ] know of him. My BKK hairdresser was sick and I went elsewhere and had the misfortune of having my hair coloured from honey blonde to white. In an attempt to make amends they tried again and I had lovely bright yellow hair. In dispair I went back to my hotel with wet hair, [ did not pay for this experience by the way !! ] and they assisted me as I was due to leave for Hong Kong later that night.
I had recalled OD's name on the board here and quickly went to Central which was nearby and yes he fixed my hair in an emergency.I was so relieved and hence my eagerness to see him when I am in BKK next month as I know I am safe with him.

Yes!!! OD has been MY Bangkok hairdresser also. He is really very good. And I like that he remembers me from one time to the next.

He cut my (then) naturally curly (longish) hair to a shorter bob cut, and did I nice job. I was quite frightened to cut it, as it had only been naturally curly for a couple of years, and I was afraid at how it might kink up, since it was a very tight curl in some areas. Anyway, OD did a nice job!

So, are you saying that the Central Chitlom hairdressing salon is no longer there???

Just thought of something... there IS a spa at Central Chitlom, and it is located just BEFORE the hairdresser shop, along that long alley beyond the Little Kitchen restaurant. Are you sure the hairdresser is gone? I'll check it out in a couple of weeks and report back.

When will you be back in BKK? I'll be there the first couple of days of November on this next trip (return home Mon Nov 3).

Carol, Many thanks for your replies, I had a feeling it might have been you [ I knew it couldn't be rhkkmk who I know is an expert on all things BKK, only joking of course ]
I must say I took the advice of the Information Desk as I was in a hurry, so it is possible they were wrong and I did not take it any further. I will be in BKK in the next few weeks all being well as I have some business in Denpasar, Sanur and Hong Kong first. Love reading about your trips in BKK and you are right, we go to many of the same places.!!! By the way ,the Secretaries Market has been going for many years and there are often good bargains for the items I look for, though last time I found it very quiet and not as big, sign of the times maybe ?

It is possible we will be in the city at the same time. I am going on the 21st (arriving late 22nd) and staying 12 nights.

Where in Australia are you? I've been to all parts of your country.

bkklover, I wanted to pull up this thread to let you know that I went to Central Chitlom today to see if OD was still there. You were right... the salon is gone. The windows are covered with plywood, and there is obvious construction going on. The sigh indicates a new salon/spa. Wonder what happened to OD? He was an excellent stylist.
