Carol:

Check SQ from Houston. I just checked for the entire month of August, and there are a couple listed for $650+ and 1 for $804.

It might be worth it for you to get a "quickie" flight to Houston. Then we can at least talk by phone if you have a layover.

Sandra (McBeanie)

PS I just chose the seats I wanted -- don't know a good one from a bad one. The exit row seats are premium and have an additional cost -- I don't know how much.

Robert (?) says the SQ61 and 62 flights between Houston and Singapore are the "ultimate" and I am looking forward to checking it out.

$1829.71 is what I'm getting for SQ from Houston. I must be doing something wrong!

Would love to catch up with you, Sandra, by the way. There is an ever-so-slight chance I'll be driving down to Houston in early July. No firm plans yet... just a "chance" for that trip. I'll let you know if it happens.

Back to checking the site Bob sent me re: specials on SQ. When I do "Houston-BKK" and put in my dates, there is no place to hit "Enter" to have it give me a quote!!! AAARRRGGHHHHHHH! How to input my dates and hit enter... such a puzzle for me. Ideas anyone?

Carol: I go to the main SQ website -- fill in the data (IAH to BKK), enter desired dates, CHECK FLEXIBLE, and it gives you a grid that you can manipulate.

For starters, I used August 1-31. I really don't know how long you want to stay in Thailand.

If you are in Houston in July, give me a call. I hate to put my phone number out here, but you can reach me at [email protected]

Prepare to suffocate in this area. We live west of Houston toward San Antonio, in a LITTLE antique-y town. Not even a WalMart! Now, this is small!!!!! But we are under drought conditions out in the country, and it is HOT!!!!!

Good luck!

Sandra,

It's hot here too. Today is about 95, but we have the heavy duty HUMIDITY with it... rather like BKK in April!! I drove my little convertible w/black leather interior, parked it for about an hour (top down) and then got back in the car... OUCH... can you say rump roast!!! The little car went back home to the cool garage, to be driven on a cooler day... lol

I'll go back to SQ web site again.... wish me luck!

IF I make it to Houston, it would be on the 30th of June (as in next week!). I'll let you know. I'll send you an email anyway, so you will have my email address! And then we can exchange phone numbers. Would LOVE to connect.

Bob, absolutely NOTHING happens when you hit enter. NOTHING. One would usually find an "enter" button to tap with your mouse pointer, or a "search fares" icon or something. But there is NOTHING to take you beyond entering dates and airports. I'm going to give up I think...
