There are many excellent medical facilities in Bangkok. I like Bumrungrad and that's where I get dental work done in Bangkok. Is it the "best"? I don't know. It's the only one I've tried.

Same here. I've only used Bumrungrad. But other people have gone elsewhere and been happy with the result. Bumrungrad is internationally known... I feel more comfortable there than just picking a dental clinic along the street. If you have a different one in mind, you might post here and see if anyone is familiar with it. Otherwise, I'd probably stick with B.

Implants do take quite a bit of time... and no, I've not had them done. If I'm not mistaken, you would probably have to make a couple of trips to BKK to get that procedure done. "Planting" the new teeth I believe is done after the gum/jaw has healed from the surgical procedure of putting in the "screws" (if that's what they are called). I don't have first hand experience with that, but it is what I understand to be the case.

Implants are a big deal. In addition to having to wait for the post(s) to heal before getting the crown(s), it's possible that he might have to have a bone graft before even placing the posts. This is much more likely if the patient's had a tooth that's been missing for a while, as the bone in the jaw will be resorbed if there's been no tooth there for a while. I had a single implant (and did require a graft, with which I experienced an unusual amount of pain and swelling) and the entire procedure took months. My husband had two adjacent implants and didn't require a bone graft to start, but it still took quite a while.

we had some limited experiences with dental last nov. at B... we were very impressed... it was not implants, but rather a crown... in the end we did not have it done because of a lack of time... also based on a $1500. US cost it was only $400. cheaper in bkk
