Can you help me identify this noodle dish, please?
We were in Xian in 2010 and our driver for the day took us to a noodle shop. This was a most delicious dish. I seem to remember it as one long noodle (but I could be wrong) It was a little on the warm side (spicy). Here is a photo of it:

Here in LA that dish is known as Chow Fun. It is made with wide rice noodles, usually prepared with beef, but also available with either chicken, shrimp, pork or tofu. Here the fresh noodles come in a plastic bag.
Hugely popular in Chinatown in SF, also found all over NYC. If you order it in the Bay Area, you will be asked if you want it wet or dry. For wet, I think the noodles are pre-soaked.

rkkwan, I think you are right. I don't think they were rice noodles. It was kind of heavy. Is Fun the noodle description or the sauce description. I'm more interested in the sauce. I'll look for some "Fun" recipes and see if that does it. Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks!

It looks like 'Liang pi' to me. They are quite good I must say. I had it in a Xian Restaurant in NYC. The restaurant was recommended on the food network by Anthony Bourdain.
Next time you feel like Xian food, please consider coming to NYC first . We are hard hit by the hurricane and we can use as much money as you can spare.
