I just realized that I neglected to post the link to my photos of Angkor Wat! Here it is, really!

Saron will do both the temples and Tonle Sap. You can see a photo of sweet Saron on page two of this gallery of photos.
Also, if you get started at Tonle Sap early enough you will have time to visit the temples again in the afternoon, if you are so inclined.
Since you are from Malaysia you won't have trouble with the heat. Lucky you! My Canadian born blood is just to thick to handle the heat!

How much did you pay for the entrance to the temples? I have read it used to be 20usd for one day, 40usd for 3 days, etc. I get this impression that the temples are pretty scattered, that travelling between the temples require you paying for taxis too.
If I really do have only one day, should I take Cilfton's suggestion and try to finish the 3 temples that he suggested? Or do you think it's a better idea to concentrate on only Angkor Wat. Your pic of Angkor at the sunset looks to die for!
I think I will just try my best to start the trip really early, at sunset, then end it really late- if possible to watch the sunset again.
If I get to choose 2, which would you suggest?
That leaves Phnom Penh. After adding traveling time from SR to PP, we pretty much have only 1.5 day. What should we do in this time? I have read about the genocide memorial and royal palace, any other suggestions?

Here is what I would suggest:
Go to the reflection pool at Angkor Wat at Sunrise. Get there while it is still dark in order to get right in front of the pool for best photo shots.
Exlore Angkor Wat for a couple of hours while you are there.
I love Ta Phrom! That is the one with all the Banyon tree roots growing all over it. Absolutely fascinating and beautiful. Go rent Tomb Raider with Angelina Jolie before you go. It is filmed here so you will get a good impression of the site.
Prea Khan is also good. I think you could visit here and <i>still</i> fit in Banteay Srea for sunset.
Banteay Srea is also called the Citadel of Women and it has intricate carvings that are in incredibly preserved condition. It is made of pink sandstone so it is much different than the others. It is also a bit of a drive to get there so I think it is an extra $10 per car? Well worth it! Many people call this one their favorite.
I think the top three are Angor Wat for it's immensity, Banteay Srea for the preserved carving and pink sandstone and Ta Phrom for the jungle-like feel it has with all the roots invading the temple.
If you are not terribly interested in the history of the carvings you can get through the temples fairly quickly. With a guide, they tell you the meaning of each carving and the history.
An option is to hire a driver for $20 per day without a guide, having them drop you off and wait while you explore. That way you can go at your own pace and hop in the car to whiz off to the next place!
Bring lots of water and ask the driver to place a cooler with ice in the car so you have cold water after wandering around the temples.
