I thought this was relevant now that Burma has come up in a few threads

Maybe they will let you swim with the penguin?

There is no reason to be testy. The water will probably be too chilly for me,otherwise I might have hatched a plan.

I hope you have noticed my offer (on another thread) to help restock your cabinets when I travel to your home base.

I certainly hope you are still at your present home base when I come to town, and have not, instead, been reposted (as in, "given a promotion" to Bishkek or Dili)

She can't swim in Burma because they artificially cool the pools. Further evidence of a plot.

Panda: A word to the wise: Be careful on whose paws you tread, or you will be eating stinky tofu for dinner very soon.

Some of those pools are artificially cooled. This is a fact. And I will confirm and set the truth into stone when I arrive on the scene next winter.

Delusional, totally delusional. I can't believe that Bob and I have put our well-being in her hands for a July dinner. Forget the September China trip and the November Thailand trip, we're going to the Emergency Room with food poisoning. I can just see the staff at the Peninsula sneaking around at night with blocks of ice that they slide into the pool. Delusional.

It looks like my next posting will be in Tehran. I have a knack for turning protest into an all out civil war!
