How Do You Find Out How Many Posts You Have Made?

Not important at all, but I'm just curious about how many posts I have made on the Fodor's Forums. Is there any way to determine that, other than going back and counting them one page at a time? I did a search, and there was some talk, before the redesign of the site, of listing the number on your profile page, but I can't seem to find the information there.

I have noticed that TA lists the number, which gives some clue as to whether the poster is a new member, with possibly some new ideas, or just one of us old bores with too much time on our hands.

Actually, I'm a bit hesitant about how high the number might be, as it will indicate how much of my life I have wasted here.

AFAIK there isn't a way to track the number anymore. Before the change from the frames format, you could.

Sometimes the old bores travel more than the newbies.

I'm gonna start calling you OB!

I think the old timers who continue to travel have the best information as they explore new places or return to familiar places and have new things to say. IMHO many newer members post looking for information and then you don't hear from them until the next trip and many of them don't return to the board to read the information they were given or to say if the advice was accurate or not.

If you want to find out if a poster is new or not just click on their name and see when they registered.

Thank you both for your answers. At least we know about old bores and newbies. Lots of both on the Forum and we can learn from both.

Still wish I could find out how many times I have posted since 2004.

"If you want to find out if a poster is new or not just click on their name and see when they registered."

But then you do get OBs who've been chucked out for being abusive or whatever, registering under new names and looking like new

I don't think you (or any of us) have "wasted" time on Fodors. It's time well spent helping others and getting different viewpoints on different situations.

As far as travel info goes, this is THE site to get the best and fastest answers, even to sometimes silly questions.

Keep posting nukesafe!

Not exactly how many posts you've made, but it's fairly easy to find how many threads you've commented on: click on your screen name, then on "See more topics you commented on," then on "Next Page." You'll get something like this:

http://www.fodors.com/community/prof.../replies_1.cfm

Then change the number 1 in the url to a higher number. Each page lists 20 threads. Skip ahead until you no longer get a valid page; then go back and narrow it down. The last valid page for you was this:

http://www.fodors.com/community/prof...eplies_108.cfm

Which means you've commented on a bit more than 2000 threads.

That method would work back to January 2003 when registration began but not for posts prior to January 2003.

That's exactly what I wanted to know, jahoulih! thank you very much. The number is probably roughly accurate, as I didn't join until 2002.

Lord, I must be butt sprung, sitting here long enough to post that many entries.

That is fascinating, I had no idea you could do that. Thanks jahoulih!

If I worked it out properly, that's 1760 posts from me. Amazing. Does that include trip reports as well?

I think it includes all the threads since registration on which you've posted a reply (but not threads where your only post was the original post).

There's also a regular *weekly* Readerboard that shows the top (as in largest number of posts) each week in each section. The Lounge top poster is usually around 300-400/wk. The top 10 around 100-200.
