Breakfast options near The Elizabeth Hotel (Orchard Rd)
Hi Fodorites,
We will be staying at The Elizabeth, which if I understand correctly is just off Orchard Rd. We will be there in July (husband's conference, 4 yr old daughter and I get to play). We would like to minimize eating in the hotel. What sort of breakfast options are nearby? Any cafés or food experiences we shouldn't miss?
Thanks in advance,
Lavandula

There is wonderful food everywhere in Singapore. Doesn't your hotel room rate include breakfast? Most do, and most hotels over lavish breakfast buffets.
Every shopping center offers food choices. And Orchard Road is one huge shopping center after another.

The "Hawker centers" (food courts) are everywhere. As kathie said, every shopping center will have one, and there are many stand-alone hawker centers as well. Just ask at the front desk of your hotel.
Your daughter might enjoy the children's Garden center inside the National Botanic Gardens. They open early and you can get a nice breakfast at the little restaurant inside the main entrance to the gargdens. Go early, as it gets hotter as the day goes on.

Hi all, thanks so much for your responses. No, our room rate doesn't include breakfast - we just figured we could fend for ourselves for breakfast and not spend too much. Nice to know there are lots of choices.
We will try the Children's Garden. Sounds wonderful! My daughter loves plants and flowers!
