Boutique Hotels in KL
Any recommendations for Boutique/unique hotels/lodging options in KL? I am looking for some place that is either unique in decor, service, ambiance or all of the above and then some Links to URL and brief description based upon referral or experience will be greatly appreciated.
I want to say when I requested similar needs for a stay in Bangkok several weeks ago I got great recommendatons and ended up staying at The Chakrabongse Villas and being very pleased with our stay. I am hoping to find the same for KL. Thx in advance.

Carcosa Seri Negara may be what you are after. Beautiful setting and rich in history, like Raffles in Singapore. I've never stayed there but have dined there.

Cilla, I want to say "thank you" for your recommendation of Carcosa Seri Negara. We just got back and we loved every aspect of our stay. The rooms were well furnished and comfortable. The service was impeccable. The personalized butler service was impressive in that they were always around when you needed him but not obtrusive when you wanted privacy. The ambiance and location reflecting the colonial period and far enough away from the bustle of the city while being close enough with car service to and fro was a nice touch.
Lastly, the French food at The Dining Room was very good. I can still taste the meal now
Anyway, thanks for a great recommendation. I would definitely stay at Carcosa again if we return to KL.

Putting "BOUTIQUE" in the hotel name is most often only an excuse to charge more for a hotel room. Women are the primary targets in this sales approach! Put in a phony bubbling brook, some rocks, some extra plants. Put some artsy fartsy paintings on the wall - voila - you have a "Boutique" hotel and can raise the bill from $30 to $60 instantly!
