The place the Panda is referring to is Narai Phand - one stop shopping for all types of handicrafts. It is next door to Gaysorn and across the street from Central World Plaza. Note that you have to go inside - it is surrounded by unaffiliated shops.

The Thai section on the top? floor of Siam Paragon has tons of shops that sell beautiful things...not especially cheap, but quality is good and for one stop shopping it's got good variety and air con.
The Weekend Market and Suan Lum night bazaar have lots of stuff...shop carefully as there is a lot of junk and a bit of good stuff.
Emporium shopping center also has a fair number of shops that sell nice handmade items. Good food court too.

The Riverside antique mall has many handicrafts on the main floor.
The upper floors are antique dealers.
I loved the place.
We bought several things, and the merchants were so saavy.
They make it very easy to ship home.
Do all of the paperwrk on the spot, and ship for you.
Everything arrived in perfect condition.
Can't wait to go back in January.
Nari Phand is fun as well.
We purchased a couple of masks there.
