Well, here we are my friends - 100 posts! Happy G.T.G.! in fact, this thread has been going on so long, so of you may already have turned 100 years old, just waiting for a decision on where to go.

I know I have. Lol.

Happy 100th post.

I look forward to the end of this never-ending saga, to photographs of carol riding drunk up and down the elevators at Central World, searching for Ha-a-a-a-agen Daas and vodka, Hanuman and Guenmai dancing naked through the Aquarium in Siam Paragon teasing the sharks, brad and Michael in BKK leading their special private tour thru Patpong. If you'd send the ping pong balls to gpanda, he'll know what to do with them.

I believe rhk will be there via video link. Tell him please not to do that feather dance again. I'm still getting over that image.

Now - have you decided yet on a location? Remember, it's just a brunch - not a lifetime committment. I can't rest till you do. I'm starting to fret now.

The dogster is right and I don't really mind where and we have a lot of time to decide. I think we've settled on the date and time which is the most important thing and unless you want to meet at the top places you don't really need the 1 month advance reservation.

Apart from meeting new friends the location and food(drinks!) should be good as well otherwise we could just meet anywhere.

No. Wasn't planning on it. Dunno where I'll be. I spent seven months on the raod this year. Home is getting suspiciously comfortable. BUT home is dreary Melbourne. It won't be long...

Elect a leader.

That way you have someone you can blame.

Much more fun.

I vote for dogster too!

C'mon dogster we need a venue, a budget, a time, a menu which everyone can eat(I believe there are some vegie eater only in the group) etc....

Or we could just got to filmwill's suite and have the gtg there. I'm sure the minibar will have plenty for all to drink! What is the checkout time filmwill?

Absolutely not. lol. I'm no fool.

It doesn't really matter where you go, or what the menu is - you'll all be happy and talking and pleased to meet up [again]. You'll barely taste the food, you'll barely notice the surroundings. You could do it in a Bangkok knock shop and be happy. Pick the oddest place you can find.

I'd hurl you into the depths of Chinatown and chuck you on a stool in the street while you're drip-fed barbecued prawns. I'd organise acrobats and at least one small Dragon.

Or I'd hire a strip joint and half-a dozen transvestites to grind tragically on the bar. I think we'd only need nibbles for that event. Somehow, I don't think you'd be able to stomach much else. But, my word, what a GTG that would be. Never forgotten.

Go where you've NEVER been. Go where you'd NEVER go, without the safety of a group. This is the Dogster way.

You wouldn't be safe with me as organiser - I'd have you blindfolded and driven to a mystery destination. It'd be too late to complain - too late even to scream 'Get me out, Mr. Dogster, get out out! Then I'd bring in the transvestites....

lol lol lol.

I vote for the dog too! Your version of a GTG is much more exciting than the sedate (but always fun) ones of the past. You can start a whole new trend for GTG's. lol

But......... until you actually show up, blindfold us all, and lead us to your den of dogster-ity, we will have to settle for venues such as the Millenium.

I did get a chance to run through the Millennium yesterday. It's big and new, and the buffet spread for weekday lunch looked enormous. The hours and costs for Sunday brunch are still as advertised. It would probably fit the bill.

If you wanted something more exotic, Rang Mahal (Rembrandt Hotel, same area) does a Sunday brunch as well.

Alternatively, if everybody just wants a cup of coffee or fruit juice with maybe a light snack, there's my place at the Siam Society directly across Asoke from the Millennium.

Of course, if you want some along Dogster's ideas, there's this som tam stall around the corner from my house... And I think Brad knows where we can find dancing shrimp.

Hey, I've seen that dancing shrimp too! Eeeeeewwwww... not for me!

I think the Millenium will fit the bill perfectly! Appreciate your report on it, Michael.

So, Millenium, 11:30ish (is that opening time?) on Dec 21st, for a group of 8-10 happy fodorites! Dogster and Bob will be proud of us for making a decision.

Sounds great--we'll be there at 11:30 then. Looking forward to it...I think I remember what some of you look like. If you see two guys looking lost, it'll probably be us. See you in a few weeks!

Atelier, on the 2nd floor. Escalators are at the very back of the ground floor, behind the lifts.
