Where is Long Table and what kind of food is it? I thought Filmwil couldn't make it for dinner which is why we'd decided on brunch. Personally, I'm more for breakfast/brunch. Happy Travels!

Breakfast/brunch would be more to my liking as well... or else cocktails and muncies in some nice bar in the afternoon.

Long Table is down by the Asoke BTS station, but maybe a 10 minute walk from there? It's not on Sukhumvit. I don't have a map in front of me, but there is a major street that intersects with Suk near Asoke. Long Table is in a highrise building on that major street, just before you get to Suk.

Long Table is on soi 16. I believe it used to reach Sukhumvit, but since Asok has expanded, it is now accessable from Asok, about 100 meters south.

The restaurant is on the 25th floor of Column Residence. Just look South on Asok from Sukhumvit and you will see a huge sign on the side of the building.

Yup, dinner on the 20th is going to be extremely difficult. We're doing the Fishing Village/Floating Market tour with Tong that day, and my understand is it's at least a 12hr day. Meaning, we'll get back late and probably be pooped.

Can we stick with brunch on the 21st? It sounded like such a good idea...and it worked for all of us.

Well, would be 'game', but as of now, at 16:40 on 19 Dec., it's beloved SQ979 J out of BKK and back 'home' to Singapore for mrs. m and assorted family and friends. (As always, drinks on me at that little sweet SQ BKK Silver Kris Lounge.)

Have fun, and oh, by the way: saw mention of the Four Seasons and SGS. Rather special and 'friendly' business travel hotels. (Do remember to say 'hi' to my all-time favourite FS masseuse.)

Enjoy...

So, just wanted to check in with the gang.

Are we on for brunch on the 21st then?

We still haven't settled on a location. Somewhere with great food and even better drinks sounds good to me. Would be nice to celebrate our sending off (sorry, folks, but our exotic travels will be coming to a close as we embark upon the "Great Kid Adventure"...so no more trips like this until the lil' ones are old enough to appreciate it.)

Something right in between a 3000TH/pp extravaganza and a street hawker would be perfect. Closer to the extravaganza than the street hawker, come to think of it.

Will,

Can do but I guess we need to know who's available and on what day. I don't have everyone's email address so do you have that? Perhaps you can send out a mass email and cc me - [email protected]

Perfect weather today hope you'll have this type of weather when you guys will be here. PS - Very cold in Pai and up North so bring a jacket!

Pook Hanuman or MichaelBKK...
Do you know anything about the restaurant on the 55th floor at Centara Grand? Gard is saying he will stay there in December and is asking about the restaurant. Brad seems to think it might be outdoorsy like Sky Bar??? Might be a place for our little gathering.

Pook,

I sent you and Carol an email. I don't have Guen's or Brad's email) ...hopefully you guys can forward this on to them.

As for Pai (and MHS, where we'll be for 3 nights) how cold are we talking? Last time we were up north this time of year, it wasn't terribly cold at all...and outright hot during the days. What are the daytime temps like right now?

Any specifics will sure help us with packing.

Carol,

I've not eaten there but have seen the advertisement for it. It does look like another Dome or Sky Bar or Vertigo kind of place. I'll call and ask what type of food and what type of prices.

Will,

In Chiang Mai it was 0c at Doi Inthanon(our highest peak) and even in Bangkok it's cooling down tremendously at the moment. Very comfortable in Bangkok and I've heard from relatives and friends in CM that it's cold there at night.

I was too lazy to log in and furthermore had a moto accident a few days ago keeping me in bed for some time.
Anyway, it would be a great pleasure to see you guys again after the very short visit last year.
Hanuman, if you know exactly when and where just drop me a mail.

Just had dinner w/Brad. He has mentioned Crepes & Co on soi 12. Says it's a great place for breakfast. What do others think of this idea for the 21st? I've never been there before. I know that it gets mentioned here once in a while.

Crepes & Co. is a very good place for breakfast. I used to eat there frequently when I lived in BKK.

Have a great time!
