you can hire a car or taxi for maybe about 1500-2500 B each way or you can take the bus from estern bus terminal on sukhumvit for about 150 B...
the lady boy show at the asia hotel in bkk is quite good....and lots of fun....sit up front...small theatre...
long trip for a day!!!...it really isn't worth the effort quite honestly...i had been wanting to go there for about 8 trips to thailand and finally went this june for the first, and LAST time...the beach area is only marginal---not sure i would swim in the water...the town is basically uninteresting, unless you want sleezy bars and prostitutes....all of which is readily available in bkk...why waste a perfectly good day.....a better day trip would be to hua hin quite honestly, although it is a little further but not much....
both rides are sort of boring...

Express bus or taxi, takes about 1 hr 30. Both Tiffany's and Alcazar are very large theatre shows ( both seat I guess around 1,000 ), very similar shows, though Asian package groups tend to go for for Tiffanys and Western package groups Alcazar as slight difference in number of Thai/Chinese/Korean vs Western numbers.
