Thanks for all of the suggestions about everything. I now have a fairly good handle on a lot of things about Bangkok.
Kathie--I am sure I'll be back and asking a lot more questions.
yestravel--Last minute trips can be fun, but at the last second before our departure (approaching soon) I also reach a point where I wonder whether we are nuts because I haven't had enough time to thoroughly research everything. OTOH I know I can get a bit compulsive about this so perhaps having to just walk away from it and go is best in the long run.
