I really enjoyed the food at Nahm. It was helped that we had wonderful hosts who ordered for us. I actually like the durian pudding also but Muffin really didn't care for that. The yellow crab curry was DEVINE........

Bob that shrimp dish is stir fried shrimp in chili and sa-tor bean, or "stink bean". Very pungent but tasty stuff even putting the famous durian to shame. If you try it I highly recommend Karen or who ever is eating with you to try it too so that you don't offend the person next to you during the meal and more importantly afterward!

Curt just how did I try and discredit mango? Reread what I put. I said I wasn't surprised he thought it was rubbish...........
mang I know you are a seasoned Thai eater, I was with 3 Thai people also, sure it's dumbed down a bit for tourists but for me the food was beautifully presented,tasted amazing and the setting and company was lovely. (and This isn't the first time I have been to Thailand)
I guess it's one of those places (maybe like Bo-Lan?)

As bland and oily as the Chinese food in Beijing was, at least it was still edible in contrast to plates of conFusion at Nahm.
The great irony here, Pook, is that Nahm's farang chef has stated he wanted to halt the decay of Thai food (in Thailand) and bring back authenticity- and you're there extolling the greatness of the food there despite him slapping you (a "Thai") on the hua for not knowing what authentic or excellent Thai food is. Nothing personal, just pointing this out to you.

No it's not Sathorn and the local restaurant was on a beach in Cha-am near the Springfield Resort. The kitchen is on land while the dining area sits on the beach. Good food but very spicy and a good place to walk around without shoes!

Smeag- Were you inebriated that night at Nahm? It certainly would have helped, imo.
One restaurant we enjoy on every trip is near the R8 bridge called Khinlum chom saphan. We had an excellent crab curry dish, among other great dishes. The only drawback of this place are the damned malaeng that can attack you while eating. I was bitten here a couple of years ago by a real nasty one. Jeb mak mak!
