Kathie & Watergirl,

The procession will start from the vicinity of the "Krungthon" Bridge and will end at Wat Arun. I don't know the restaurants in that area so I'm sorry I can not recommend anything.

Also, they will block off the boat traffic in that area for the practice days as well as the main event.

I think you should contact your hotels in Bangkok and perhaps their concierge can give some recommendation for restaurants or places to view the procession from. Just give them the information about where the procession start and finishes.

I so need my Nancy Chandler Map (on order) to figure all this stuff out!! Think we need to change our itinerary with Tong, too... Very good to know in advance.

Thanks Hanuman! This is great information.

Thanks, Hanuman, I was afraid it was going to be in that area. I will do some checking on possible restaurants or other ways to see the barge parade.

Kathie,

Snorkeling - you can't beat the view and the silt laden water will help with the frizzy hair too!

Don't tease the frizzy haired people or you may end up with problems like Mango's ( does anyone know if he is stioll speaking to his wife?)

LOL, Hanuman, I think we'll pass on the snorkeling. But it sounds like if the silt-laden waters "cured" frizzy hair, you'd have a lot of takers (but not me!).

This is the view from the Royal Thai Navy location.

Does anyone know if this area (or nearby areas) will be open to the public?

I would happily spend many many Baht to have access to this location on November 5.
