Bang Saen Beach, Thailand

I went to the Tide Beach Resort in Bang Saen Beach today, its close to Chon Buri. I was very impressed. It is kind of like the Pattaya for Thai tourists. There were very few Farangs and no bar girls. And it is closer than Pattaya.

The mountain at the end of the bay is full of monkeys that come to your car to be fed. It is famous to the Thais, but most foreigners don't know about it. It might be better to keep it that way?

Also, the Tide has a zoo as well.

I was looking at this online and was going to ask if anyone had been there. Thinking of a place to rest up for a couple of days to get rid of jetlag. Isn't this handy from the new airport? Or is the new airport on the other side of Bangkok and hence handier to Hua Hin?

The Tide will probably be about the closest beach resort to the new airport. They estimate 40 minutes by taxi. Hua Hin is on the other side of the gulf and will probably take over 2 hours?

I think Bang Saen will become very popular.

I agree with brad, once the new airport opens it will make many places like Bang Saen for more popular, I did a timing a few weeks back from the evelvated expressway near the airport cutting south of the city towards Hua Hin and I reckon it will be about the same time as it is now or a tad quicker with the new airport.

Speaking of the new airport.... how are things coming with this project? I was in BKK when it "officially" opened last September/October. I have the BKK Post and Nation newspapers as souvenirs! When does it appear that it might be ready for use?
