We are planning a trip to Singapore and having a hard time narrowing down what we want to do during the time we have - although we have not yet been so are by no means experts, from our research, there appears to be quite a bit to do and see in Singapore.

No culture in Singapore? I had to laugh at that one. I go there almost annually for a short vacation trip and immerse myself into Paranakan culture which I'm very interested in. My Paranakan kebaya maker, Benjamin, should have already opened his Paranakan shop...the largest in the world...inside of the Asian Civilizations Museum. He e-mailed me last year about it being in the makings.
He also has a great Paranakan restaurant...True Blue...over in the Katong area....117 East Coast Rd. tel.64400449. Great place for lunch.
I've stayed in Singapore for as long as a week and a half and have found PLENTY to do. I've been going ever since 1998.
So, for Judia1...if you can extend your trip some, then add 3 days in Singapore...why not...you'll already be on that side of the world and the plane will probably go through Singapore to get to Bali anyhow...my flight did. Happy Travels!

Judia1...and yes, do spend some time in Ubud while on Bali. That's where my very small, 6-room hotel was and where my best friend has been going regularly since the early-mid 90s. I love the feel of Ubud.
If you decide to do Singapore, before choosing a hotel, run your hotel list by us. We, on this forum, have probably stayed in them and know the locations. Happy Travels!

Long flights arn't that bad at all. The food is normally really good, and the service too. I average about 7-8 hours of sleep on my recent 15 hour flights--go for it!!!
