Back to Don Muang

In case you missed it, Don Muang Airport re-opens this Saturday/Sunday. Nok and 1-2-Go will move all their flights there. Thai will move about a dozen 'non-connecting' domestic flights to the old airport, which will now be known by the code 'DMK'. Be sure to check your tickets.

For those traveling light, there's a new 'city check-in' at the Ladprao subway station. You can check in for your flight there and then board a (free?) bus to DMK.

Is this airport closer to Bangkok than the new one?

no. Indeed, it takes a bit longer to get to and from the old airport than it does to get to and from the new airport.

Actual Thai will only keep 12 flights at the new airport serving CM, CR, Phuket and Krabi. All others, some 30, will fly out of Don Muang
