Baan Haad Ngam in Koh Samui

Has anyone had experience with the Baan Haad Ngam in Koh Samui? How does it compare with the Central Samui Beach Resort? Thanks in advance...

We stayed at a hotel near the Baan Haad Ngam last Summer. BHN had just opened. The studio rooms were gorgeous. Spacial, thai modern style etc. But there were a few negatives (depending on if you care about them)..the rooms are quite tightly put together, the tiny pool is really a place to wet yourself and look out onto the water. The beach right in front is not great (cause the hotel is a few rocky steps above and does not flow onto the beach)But the stretch of beach adjacent 10 meters away is beautiful. There is one italian restaurant on premises. But overall I thought it was a good place in a great location. Central is also located on the same beach, a short walk away. I have not stayed there but have heard that the rooms are slightly dates but comfortable.

We just stayed at the Baan Haad Ngam in March and it was fantastic - great pool, service, rooms, good italian/thai restaurant, etc.! The only drawback is the beach in front of it isn't as good as, say, near Poppies, but I loved hanging around the pool all day long anyway (it might be small but it is good). I highly recommend it - and in my opinion, the best room is 301 - or 304, i forget, but it is cheaper than a villa and is higher so you can see the ocean.

cheers, Powers

We loved it at BHN. Close enough to town to walk there but far enough away that you can enjoy the serenity. Breakfast is outstanding - the staff is beyond kind and helpful and courteous. True, the beach is not the best - but it's still nice and again, a short walk from the nicer parts of Chaweng beach. Pool is an infinity pool and yes, on the small side (and particularly warm (or at least it was in March with the 100 degree weather and 100 percent humidity) but the ocean was warmer. it's lovely - just claim your seats early! The villas are spacious, but everyone walks by them and thus, it does not ensure a great deal of privacy. Opt for one of the deluxe rooms instead - they are cooler and more private. The rooms are gorgeous - and spacious - great tubs, spacious, clean and air conditioned! A great value and a wonderful jewel of a hotel!
