Awesome information site for first-time travelers

This has GOT to be the most interesting and comprehensive site I've seen so far for first-time travelers to Thailand:

http://www.hasekamp.net/thaiindex.htm

You won't see any fancy graphics--just plain, no-nonsense, well organized, THOROUGH and totally valuable information. It's like an internet guidebook. Worth bookmarking if you're at the planning stage.

Wow! Thanks ever so much for posting that url, Tania. Am going to Thailand for the first time in January and that site is FANTASTIC! Oops, sorry if I was "yelling" but it is a great website.

Thanks again

This is a very good site for first-time travelers to Thailand. I was a little wary at first. I thought maybe these posts were made by the owners of the site.
But this site is very straight-forward and helpful. Thanks.

Glad to help!

I actually found it buried deep in the archives of the message board at travelforum.org, and considering how thorough, helpful and engaging a read it was, I thought it would be wasted had I not shared it here!

A word of warning about the links to other sites on this site. I was browsing this site and went into the More Information About Thailand section and then to the Top 100. I opened a link called My Thailand Holidays and up came porn sites that each time I tried to close one, another popped up.

Richard,
I wonder if the Fodors website administrators know about this!? Shouldn't they be checking the links they post on their information pages??

Tania, it wasn't the link you posted:

http://www.hasekamp.net/thaiindex.htm

It was a link on that website. I looked at the other links that were there and that one was the only offensive one. The rest were actual Thai info sites.
