AskOsena -- Update on SQ

Here we go again! SQ 61 (IAH to BKK) in late September and return late October. Let's hope this trip goes as planned.

Macintosh -- regale us again about what we can expect from SQ economy. We are hoping that the comfort is worth the extra hours in the air. I just wish we had more than a refueling stop in Moscow.

So far (and it has been this way for several weeks) the plane is only about 1/2 full, so it may be that we will have even more room. What a deal! Plus the $$$$ was less than anyone else on a direct flight. Well, a short layover and change in SIN, but that's okay.
Almost direct -- at least we don't have to change airlines.

You did a lot to influence our choice of SQ this trip.

Thanks.

Warm greetings Sandra,

Great to hear from you and congrats again on your unmatched Art of Travel, flying with those gorgeous and gracious Singapore Girls. 'We salute you!' (Thank you, ac/dc)

Now, as much as I would (secretly) love to see your flight fully booked (we do love that additional SIA revenue), having a half-full plane means even more opportunity for interaction with those precious Girls. (Our little secret.)

In the days leading up to your departure, rest up and have all your passports/critical docs/numbers/meds easily available. (But you knew that.)

Arrive with plenty of time at IAH, to prepare yourself for The Greatest Show in the Sky. Once onboard (and after you have caught your breath over your 'first Girl encounter'), take in that unmatched SQ pre-flight service and fine SIA and KrisShop magazines. Also, do not be shy over enquiring over a possible seat change (if so desired), as well as additional blankets and pillows. And SIA flights of your length always carry some toys for youngsters, as well as writing kits and playing cards. Just kindly ask, and those Girls will do anything for you (within reason, of course).

Now, flights of your length, I do pop 10 mg. of that Ambien sleeping pill. You and your doctor know best with that issue, but those pills always set me up for ~~ 5 hours of sweet dreams with no 'daze'. (Mind you, I've been doing that routine every month for some time; just like taking an aspirin.) Most importantly, drink plenty of water and do get up and walk around the plane (giving you more Girl sighting opportunities).

If I recall correctly, you have a granddaughter. Well, as of ~ 8 days back, Terminal 2 at the charming Changi airport in SIN had those sweet 'official' sarong kebaya uniforms for sale at ~ S$28. Those uniforms have always been a huge hit with the nieces in my life, and their friends. (As the better half likes to say : "Start them young".) A fine gift.

Upon your ultimate arrival, you may find it difficult to leave the planes and those sacred Girls. All I can suggest is book another SIA flight as soon as possible. (And if so inclined, don't hesitate to write a note thanking the crew and pilots for their efforts, and possible areas for improvement; they work rather hard, in a rather competitive industry these days and SIA's executive 'rock star' management now knows it.)

Probably missing a few thoughts for you, so please feel free to ask more. Savour your planning Sandra, and look forward to those sweet SIA rides.

(And, 'by the way' : with a half-full plane and long flights, you just might strike up a long-term 'friendship' with one of those Angels.) ... (It's been known to happen) ...

Bob... haha!

(you can't take large bottles of liquid on the plane, and you would have already checked other bags in at IAH)

Good morning Sandra!

rhk -- This is the normal route from IAH to BKK -- extra hours in flight, but hopefully more comfortable seats. Besides, Moscow is just a refueling stop and I doubt that we will even leave the plane.

Hi, back at you, Carol! Will be thinking about you next week and wishing we were on our way, too. All our reservations are confirmed, so now I am just twiddling my thumbs. Are you planning another trip to Houston anytime? Whenever you do, we will need to extend our visit. BTW, I had lunch with Loretta today, and she said "Hello."

"Hello" back to Loretta! I don't have any plans for Houston yet... but you never know when I might jump in the car and drive down! I'll give you a shout out when I do.
