Ajmer and Pushkar
How do you evaluate Ajmer and Pushkar as places to visit? In my itinerary I can either fly from Jodhpur to Jaipur, or I can do the long car drive between Jodhpur and Jaipur in order to visit Ajmer and Pushkar in between. Is this last option worth the effort according to you? Or should I make my life easy and fly?

Thks, Jacketwatch. We ARE going to visit Jaipur at any rate, but the question is whether it is worth it to spend a day in the car and do Pushkar and Ajmer on the way, rather than just flying in to Jaipur, coming from Jodhpur. So what would be your opinion, and of others for that matter?

Having just returned from all three places -- Ajmer, Pushkar (and its Camel Fair), and Jaipur -- we can confirm Jacketwatch's opinions as correct.
There is MUCH more to see in Jaipur than either of the others. And if you have not driven in those 1 1/2 lane roads, you are just asking for a lot of punishment. Fly -- just fly.

Unless you are going to be there for the camel fair (usually sometime in November) then Ajmer and Pushkar don't stand out as destinations.
