I need to find a reputable travel agent from whom I can buy tickets to Vietnam while I am staying at the Majestic Grande (near the intersection the Expressway and Sukhumvit Rd) while I am in Bangkok. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If it is just cheap flights you want then Airasia, & booking online is good - thyey only fly to Hanoi though, so depends where you want to go.

I wish I could give you the exact name of the place I've used several times. It's on soi 4, just through that "alley" in front of the Majestic Grande. The agency is located in the back of the lobby of a hotel. It might be something like the Ambassador? I know it isn't far from that alley entrance to soi 4. It will be on the opposite side of the street.

Sorry I don't have better details!

Just talked with son (bradinbangkok) and he says that the agency I just mentioned above is closed for renovations. Too bad... it's quite a good one!

I need to fly to HCMC from BKK and back from Hanoi to BKK. What I read several places says that the cheapest airline fares are available in person in BKK, so that's why I was looking for an alternative to online. Are there any airlines with really bad safety records or reliability? thx

Thanks to rhkkmk (now in India I see), I used Eddie at Seatours. I won't be flying with the e-tickets he issued (from Bkk to Luang Prabang) until December 16 but my email communications with him were very smooth and responsive. He booked the exact flights I requested and we paid the amount he originally quoted, no funny business. So far, its thumbs up for Seatours. I will be staying at the Majestic in Bangkok the night of Dec 15. Will you be there?

I always use Thai Overlander Travel & Tour. I've been working with Tuenjai for over 5 years. Just take the BTS to Asoke, take the MRT underpass under Asoke, then walk 100 yds down Sukhumvit. Here's their info.
