5 star hotel in Tokyo for $71 per night??

I just saw this Hotel while browsing asiarooms.com; it's a 5 star hotel and it's only $71 per night!!

I'd like to get your opinion on the Area and if someone had stayed there before.

It's called Princess Garden Meguro:

http://www.asiarooms.com/japan/tokyo...en_meguro.html

the address is 23, Kami-Osaki, 2-chome Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo,Japan - Meguro

and it says it's 4 minute walk from the Meguro station.

Thanks!!!!

Ummm..Asiarooms.com rates it as a 5 start, but that doen't mean it is a 5 star hotel!!!

You have to figure a hotel that ranks as it's best amenities-
air conditioning,
satellite television,
automatic wake-up call,
connection for laptop,
direct dial phone,
Television,
in-house movie and
hairdryer-
is not really a swanky hotel!

And the reviews are pretty limp as well. I think the nicest thing said was that the hotel is only a 5 min walk from Meguro station...

Location map here. http://www.princess-garden.co.jp/index1.html

Definitely not 5 star. Not even close.

The asiarooms.com price for a double is over ¥10,000/night and does not include breakfast. Same price as for direct booking, except when you book directly, you don't pay in advance and you get to choose your room type for direct booking.

Thanks KimJapan, I had been googling the hotel name for 20 minutes trying to find their website and it was impossible...

So, do you all think it's a good deal?

I'm about to pick up the phone and call them to make my reservation, I've been searching for something decent under $100 for a couple of weeks and this looks like it may be it!!

Thanks again

Dave

It doesn't look like a great place to me...it will be a room, and a small and tired one at that if the pictures are at all accurate.

A Toyoko Inn or APA hotel would be around the same price and maybe a little better quality if it were a newer one of those. http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/

I've been at toyoko inn's before, yes they're great... I'll probably go to the toyoko inn then, I just saw this one and was kind of impressed by the price / rating.

Thanks!!

The room pictured on Asiarooms "rooms" tab is not the standard room that they are selling...it's a semi-suite, which I can't find rates for even on their own website. A standard room, which is what asiarooms is selling, will be more like the first picture in their gallery. The picture with the flowered bedcovers is a deluxe room.
