Hi:

I'm tentatively thinking of traveling to Paris over the New Year holiday and have found a somewhat decent, I think, airfare for the dates 29 December to 7 January. Aer Lingus is quoting $716 RT.

I've never traveled to Paris in late December/early January so I'm not sure if this fare is OK or if it's incredibly high for the *specific* dates listed above.

Any thoughts?

Your fare sounds really good to me. We're flying ORD-ZRH and back (but late Nov to early Dec... so different dates) and paid about $900 per ticket. Are you flying out of BOS?

Re: that ZRH ticket. I just bought a ticket for our DS but for a shorter period of time (11/29 to 12/7) and the price was a whopping $200 LESS than I saw it just a few days ago. I didn't hesitate. I bought it at UNDER $800! $777.80, to be exact. I thought that was a really good buy.

TR, can you fly on United? You might just look at the current pricing there for your dates.

Hi TR, I looked at the fare charts on Kayak and it looks like a good fare for this year but if you didn't jump on it then it might have gone by now.

According to kayak fares have been around $750-$800 for your timeframe.

I still think it's expensive for an indirect flight in the middle of winter but taking the holiday into account makes it more understandable.

Is that the all-in ticket price or just the airfare. That is, is it the airfare + taxes + fees + fuel surcharge = $716?

yes it may sound like alot but you will not get anything much cheaper especially because you are traveling over the holidays.
