What's to do at JFK during a long layover? AA Admiral Club?
We will likely have about 3-4 hours to hang out in JFK while we await our connecting flt. We're flying AA into terminal 8. Anything of interest in the terminal to viist? Or elsewhere at JFK? What's the AA Admiral Club like? Thanks!

The AC at T8 is fine, but looks like the main lounge is closed for renovation right now and a temp lounge is in place:

It's a relatively new AC, so it's kind of strange that it already needs a re-do. Sounds like the re-do will take about 1 month and likely finish by mid-April. When will you be flying? Here's a thread on flyertalk for more details:

yestravel,
It's a downright boring terminal.
I was in the JFK Club back on 3/12. Not bad, pretty modern. About 3 years old (no frayed furtniture - side joke).
Here's a link that will show you some Admiral's Club pictures. Who would take pictures of bathrooms is beyond me....

If you're flying biz or better internationally, access is free. Ask for some free drink tickets at the entrance and you will usually get 2-3 per person.
If you pay for access, still ask for the drink tickets.

Thanks for all the great info -- We leave 4/21 and are flying biz class internationally so we will be sure to get those free drink coupons.

yestravel,
I've been traveling too much lately. Yes, there is a temporary Admiral's Club at JFK. Same rules apply for drink tickets and the like.
The temp lounge isn't really bad at all, kind of out in the open indoors, if that makes sense.
My wife couldn't find anything to buy, which tells me that this is a good terminal to save money.
