What drives you nuts?!?!
Okay, time to vent. Here are a few things that drive me nuts.
First, when they announce they are going to begin boarding and everyone has to stand up and crowd around the gate agent, even though they aren't boarding until Zone 6. You are just in the way. No one is going to steal your seat. Sit down.
Second, baggage claim. Why does everyone cram around the conveyor belt? Just stand back and leave room. When you see your bag coming, step up to the belt and take it. If everyone would do that, you wouldn't have to push thru people to get to your suitcase.
Okay, I feel better now.

Okay, Rizzo, now I’m mad at you. I read your headline, and I thought, “For me, it’s when the Gate Agent (apparently) announces, ‘We are boarding sections 1 and 2. Will sections 3, 4, and 5 kindly block the path to the jetway.’” Then I clicked on your post and you stole my vent! Just teasing, I hope you know.
Usually, if there is someone standing in the way and I get a glimpse of their section 6 boarding pass, I politely ask if they are “in line”. They’ll say no and I excuse myself past them. I remain polite, but I admit sometimes it wears on me.

The baggage carousel gets to me too especially when a whole family of 5 has to crowd around & you nearly bean a kid in the head trying to get your bag off.
I really wish airport planners flew once in a while so they can see how badly designed airports are.
My goal in life is to really be flying on a plane leaving from one of the first 3 gates after security. Won't happen in my lifetime.

People grabbing my seat back to pull themselves up and thereby catapulting me out of my seat.
If it's an elderly person, I try to not be as annoyed but it's usually a young guy.
My biggest pet peeve is not really about travel . . . it's about people who stand directly in front of the elevator and barge on while I'm trying to get off.
Another is tailgaters . . . shoot, I have too many to list!

I agree with the other complaints about people gathering around the gate when it's time to start boarding. Get out of the way!! Once had an agent, a woman (I think she was a Marine) guarding the gate area. She did a great job of keeping people out of the way. The airlines need more people like her!! ha ha
I'm a very frequent flyer with UA and have learned to board right away when they call my section (usually first or second group called) because someone sitting in the BACK of the plane will use MY overhead space if I don't board right away!!! Use your OWN space!!! I'm not one to carry everything on board, (that's another gripe) only a small computer bag and my purse. I get irritated when I get to my seat and there isn't any room left for my small item... OVERHEAD HOGS BEWARE!!!
Ah, that feels better.

I always wonder if that TV show about SW airlines boosts business or hurts it. Seems everyone checking in is drunk. One heck of a lot of people also appear to get bumped but I assume they pick those situations to make entertaining TV.

I agree with the poster about people boarding a plane and putting their luggage in a luggage bin in the front of the plane before heading to their seat in the back. Its really annoying to the person who gets on board only to find the bin above their seat is already taken.
On a recent flight, I saw someone handle it beautifully. I was sitting in FC when a guy put his carryon next to mine in overhead compartment. I thought he was sitting next to me, but he headed for the back of the plane.
When the person sitting next to me arrived, he asked if both carryons were mine. I told him no, that it belonged to someone seated in the back. He took the carryon out of the bin and placed it on the floor.
After the plane was fully loaded, the FA came by and asked whose carryon was sitting there? My seat partner said he had no idea. The FA went through the plane and located the passenger. The plane was full and there was no room left so she had to check the bag. The passenger who had left the bag was really mad, but could do nothing about it. I still smile when I think about it.

Why is it that when the plane lands...every body and their aunt gets up and stands in the aisle? Even though the plane doors aren't even open yet? What does that accomplish? You're off the plan like what? Six seconds earlier than you would have been if you just waited until the doors opened?
Love the term "gate lice".

JAGIRL - That's to protect your deplaning position. If you don't block the aisle, then people sitting behind you can move up front. It's pretty critical if one has a tight connection. Every second counts.
Anyways, if I have a long connection, I always just sit in my seat until everybody's gotten off.

It drive me nuts when the airlines call me and tell me they have a "minor schedule change" on my itinerary, which turn out to be that my direct flight now has a stop - for 4 hours!
I have a funny story about how everyone gets up immediately once the plane stops. I was on a flight with my family and we were past that time when everyone is scrambling for luggage, calling on their cell phone, etc. By now everyone was just standing around waiting for the de-plane. My younger son was staring at the top of my head, which was recently lightened and highlighted. He stared a while and then said loudly (and remember, the plane is deadly quiet by now)..."Mom, where did your brown hair go?"

LOL Karens!!
What drives me nuts are the people that cannot get on a plane with their carryons, backpacks etc., without whacking you (usually on the head thank you so much) as the lumber down the aisle looking for their seat.

What drives me nuts....on international flights especially? I know that I am going to be flamed for these but here goes:
Not having a pen to fill out their customs forms and expecting me to have one for them.
Not having a sweater or jacket with them for an overnight flight when they are traveling in a sleeveless shirt.
Little old ladies that fill their carryon with about 100 pounds and then expect everyone else to "schep" it for them.
Wanting a 6'3 guy to take their center seat that they were assigned "because they want the aisle seat he has" to stretch out in (even though they are 5 feet tall).
Not carrying a change of clothes or diapers for their babies on a 10/11 hour flight.
Trying to "learn" Italian at the last minute in the last hour of the flight or start planning their itinerary for the city that they are about to land in.
Leaving the lavs in disgusting shape-do you do that at home?
Not having your liter bottle of water, eyeshades, slippers or anything else that would be helpful to you on a long overseas flight.
Telling me that you are on your honeymoon and expecting me to bump you up to business or first class.
Basically, NOT remembering the "Golden Rule" about do unto others.....ie. no manners/understanding to others.
Geez-I feel better already!

That is one thing that cracks me up on these boards - people bragging that they pack all their stuff in a carry-on. Like they should get a pat on the back - then they take up so much room with their stuffed bags.
Check your luggage.
