Websites to help determine if the price is fair?

I've been watching flights from PHL to LAX with Virgin America for Jan 2014. I'm more than 6 months out and I know I have heard that flights sometimes go down after 6 months out.

Wondering if there are any sites that will help me determine when a price is good or not. Bing Travel wasn't helpful I guess maybe because Philadelphia isn't a popular city (I was looking up dates in November just so I could get a general idea how Bing worked).

Right now the price for first class, one way is around $700.

Go to ITA - http://matrix.itasoftware.com/search.htm and use the 30-day function and specify "business class or higher." I'm seeing $505-$520 most days, typically on US Airways but also some days on AA and Virgin America.

Not my experience. Most airlines have "discount" business and first class fares, often turning up in "Z" "I" "P" or K/Y-"UP" buckets.

MissGreen - given the choice between your advice and Gardyloo's advice, the Gl wins every time.

There are deals to be had on various premium flights and you can find info about them on this thread.

If you specifically want to fly VA, maybe you can find some info to help on their FT forum.
