Well this was the first flight in my some 20 years where I really felt like something was amiss. Maybe because its a route I have not flown before, the seat assignment mess up or when my tv monitor actually fell half out of its holder. Ok so maybe I was fly economy but I am comparing this experience with my other United experiences and this one was really lacking. This is the second time in less than 4 months where my experience with United has fallen flat. Yes I can choose not to fly them but maybe I might be lucky to get on one of their 300 new planes next time. I really do not keep up on what the airlines are investing in but I can still call them cheap on this last flight.

United changed my seats without any notification. I have been flying for 20ish years and have never had an airline change my seat assignment (although I know they have the right too).

I am going on my honeymoon in a week so I booked way in advance as the economy plus seats on this flight are very limited. I went online today to double check my reservation only to find out that they had moved my fiancé and I out of our economy plus seats in the first row of economy to many rows back in regular economy seats. This was done with zero notification or refund.

I called to try to fix it and I was told there's nothing that I can do to get those seats back. They did offer me a refund on the extra money I put down for the economy plus seats but offered no reason as to why we would have been moved in the first place, simply stating that they "reserve the right to move any passenger at any time". I'm ok with that if the seat is comparable or if you can give me a reason: ie. equipment change or needed room for a handicapped person or baby carrier. Really, any kind of logical explanation would have been nice and if you're going to move me from a seat where I paid extra a notification or refund is in order! Thanks a lot, United, for the great honeymoon flight down-grade - on both legs of the trip!
