Two Tickets - Checking Bags

In May, I'm taking my 9 yr old great nephew to Disneyworld. I made two different reservations on United:

No. 1 for just me - PHX - DEN going out the night before he and I are leaving for our trip and returning DEN - PHX several days later.

No. 2 for both of us - DEN - MCO and then back MCO - DEN.

Now trip #1's return ticket to PHX is the same date as our return to Denver. In other words he and I get in around Noon (he gets picked up) and then I leave again about 3:00 that same afternoon for PHX.

My question is whether it would be possible to check my bag from MCO all the way through to PHX if I show the check in agent my other boarding pass.

What do you think? Has anyone ever done this?

Considering it's the same airline I wouldn't think it's a problem. Why not call and ask United?

If I understand, You have 2 tickets for yourself, PHX-DEN-PHX and another DEN-MCO-DEN. Returning home, you leave MCO and arrive DEN around noon and depart from DEN to PHX around 3pm. If that is correct, I do not know why you couldn't check your bag through to PHX when you check in at MCO. I have done similar before. To be sure, I recommend you call United and ask them your question also. The person checking you in may even actually ask you what is your final destination? You might say Phoenix connecting in Denver, then explain it is on 2 separate tickets. It should work, good luck

Yes, you can check your bag through to your final destination. Your flights are all on United, but you can even do this if it's on a different airlines & separate tickets.

Just tell MCO check-in that PHX is the final destination.
