TVK (Tel Aviv) to San Francisco

Any tips or tricks, esp., regarding routing, for getting a good RT Fare Tel Aviv to San Francisco?

I am on my way over to Flyertalk, but it is always good to get more than one source/data point.

TIA

Sorry for the typo - it is possible to edit posts on this board???

Anyway, unfortunately this is a last minute thing. He can leave as soon as March 20 from TLV, (which is undoubtedly a bad idea as there would not be a 7 day advance purchase), we need him to visit for 8 days, but he must return home for a family event by March 15th.

Sigh - I mean he can leave as early as Feb 20, not March 20th.

Actually not too bad considering "last minute" timing - Delta for around US$960, KLM/NW for around $20 more. (DL via JFK, riding on an El Al codeshare, then Song nonstop to SFO; KL/NW via Amsterdam then nonstop to SFO.) United/Lufthansa both via Frankfurt are around $100 more.

Is the traveler a member of any FF program? That might help make the decision easier.

Thanks, your routing info suggestions save me a great deal of time.

Lufthansa's website pricing was $3472 converted from Euros (snort). The Travelocity site saya a $604 fare exists, but try to find that "ghost" fare.

I'll look into Delta, they seem to have the best price, perhaps related to it being a new route.

The FF miles are not as important in this case as the price of the ticket since we are paying

Thanks again!
