Trying to Book Thai Airways. Suggestions?

I prefer booking directly with the airline and need to book a couple of flights within Thailand. My credit card has been declined twice by the Thai Airways site. The first time I received a notice from my credit card issuer asking if it was a valid charge. On my second attempt it was declined again but didn't seem like that was done by my CC issuer.

After some Googling I've read this is very common. I'm considering just using Expedia at this point or something similar. Any thoughts?

I'd maybe ask your question on FlyerTalk -- some foreign airlines - especially in Asia - present problems for uS credit cards. Someone on Flyertalk will know what you should do.

Thai is a member of the Star Alliance so booking via UA or LH etc might be the solution -- but ask on FlyerTalk -- they will help.

(FT is run by the same company as Fodors but you need a separate log in/profile.)

Thanks janisj. I did try to use the UA website to book but no luck. I'll check out flyertalk.
