Transfer time

Hi,
I'll be travelling with my wife and 3 kids in summer to the US with lufthansa from Nigeria. Our transfer time in Frankfurt on return is just 1hr, 5mins. Wot do you think as per catching our flight back to Lagos, customs, security, our luggages, et cetera at Frankfurt ........... all within 1hr, 5mins ! This will be our 1st time going through Frankfurt. I've read so many 'scary' things on the net as per transfer time/connecting flights at different airports. Thanks all.

Yes, you have enough time if your flight from the US is on time. No, you do not have enough time if your flight from the US is very late.

You can check your luggage through to Lagos from the US, so no need to collect it in Frankfurt.

Some advice:

- Don't dawdle when getting off the plane.

- As soon as you get off the plane, look for information on the television monitors for flight departures. There's a good chance that both your incoming flight and your flight to the US will be in Terminal B, which means you'll have a short walk. However, if one flight is in Terminal B and the other in Terminal C, follow the signs and do not delay.

Unfortunately, if you do miss your flight to Lagos, there are no later flights or connections available.

Very often, the incoming flights from the U.S. are even early (due to tailwinds).

Frankfurt is just a normal airport, no better, no worse than others. However, most Americans arrive jet-lagged at Frankfurt and see things negatively. As rizzuto has said, don't worry too much. You won't have to deal with luggage and customs. You will get your boarding pass for the connecting flight when you check in in the U.S., so you have just to walk to your departure gate (it may require some walking).
