Transaction to another airplane

I'm traveling to Mexico City but I'm must stop in Atlanta, Georgia and get in another plan. I got 50 min. to reach to my second plane and I'm traveling by Delta Airline. Will I have enough time to arrive to my second airline ?

Where are you coming from?
Have you booked this as one ticket for the whole journey or separate tickets for each leg?

If it is all on Delta then I don't think one ticket or separately purchased tickets matters.

More important is where you are coming from. If you arriving from outside the US then you'll need to go through US Immigration & customs, and 50min is not enough time.

If your flight into Atlanta is from another US airport, and on Delta as well then 50min while tight is enough time to get from one gate to another. If for any reason your 1st flight is delayed then all bets are off.

This is a good question to ask before you buy tickets, not after. I would not intentionally book a 50min layover anywhere, but since you've already purchased your tickets you don't have much of a choice now.

Nato, like in Evere ?

We came from Bru to Mexico and had a 50 min stop in Atlanta.
I didn't think I'd make it but we did with a fezw minutes to spare. Yet the lines at immigration seemed to last forever.

I imagine they'll hold the plane a few min if they know you're coming. And if you don't make it, being on one ticket, they'll provide a solution (not always the best but...).

Ah, we had 3 kids with us, one 4 years old - so we were not that fast.

Delta rarely holds planes anymore. The FAA 'dings' airlines in the rankings for late departures. Sometimes if it's the LAST flight of the night and they have a bunch of runners....But generally no.

In Atlanta, ask any agent to help you, to get you to the front of the long line. If you have less than... don't remember, less than 1 hr, or less than 1 1/2 hr, they will do that.

Really? The agents will help you? WHERE ?

Seriously this is not going to happen except MAYBE at check in. you will not be fast tracked to the front of the TSA line for example.

CarolA,
My own personal experience is that TSA has led me to the front of the line on more than one occasion when I was cutting it close. I asked the TSA agent at the start of the queue if there was anything they could do, and they did.

One time at LGA, another at San Jose. As with everything TSA or human, there is no consistency, so ymmv.

I see it happen a lot. Not usually an issue for me since I almost always have Pre-Check . . . but I frequently see people being brought to the front of the regular screening line.
