Janisj - read her original postings. She is on two separate tickets. Therefore, if she was to skip the out bound Florence ticket it would only effect the return ticket to Rome as noted by Doug. Skipping the Florence leg would have absolutely no effect on the return ticket to the US.

So, Celia, just ignore Janisj's comments concerning your tickets.

OOPs -- you are right -- I was so fixated on Doug's comment that I completely forgot the whole issue re luggage checked through. That'll teach me to try and multitask w/o any coffee

There is luggage storage in Rome's airport, but I don't think you have time to go to Ostia.
